Hodgson and Deschamps snaffle six Gunners

The interlull will be back with its usual whimper next week as a round of international friendlies see Arsenal player flung far and wide around the globe.

France versus Germany looks like the fixture most likely to pique the interest of Arsenal fans with Didier Deschamps calling up Bacary Sagna (presumably having not watched him this year), Laurent Koscielny (presumably having not watched him this year) and Olivier Giroud.

Abou Diaby, thankfully, won’t be taking part after Arsene Wenger made clear the midfielder wasn’t ready to juggle domestic and international commitments.

There’s no news yet on Joachim Loew’s Germany squad, although you’d expect both the BFG and Poldi to get call-ups.

At Wembley, the FA’s 150th anniversary celebrations get into full swing with a prestige showdown with next World Cup hosts Brazil. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott are all in Roy Hodgson’s squad and if it weren’t for the injury picked up last night Kieran Gibbs might have joined them. Surprisingly, whoever it is who is in charge of Brazil didn’t have the balls to pick Andre Santos.

Elsewhere, potential call-ups include Wojciech Szczesny travelling to Dublin with Poland and Santi Cazorla’s Spain playing Luis Suarez’s Uruguay in Doha – a venue no doubt linked to dodgy World Cup voting patterns.

  2. Gibbs out for 3 weeks. If its the normal 3 weeks instead of usual Arsenal 3 week then we should be okay

Nothing would go wrong, we have two top top top quality players in every position and all we need is to trust those players and we can compete at the highest level as there is no player out there we feel is top top top quality to add to our squad.

People might look at the 21 points between us and the leader and think it is a lot, in away it is, but don’t you all forgot we still have 14 games to play and this gap can be closed and we win the title, CL and FA Cup with the two top top top quality players we have in each position.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1.

  9. Am I the only one who senses we are near the very end of the Wenger reign? For some reason I get the feeling le boss won’t renew his contract and may even possibly step down this year. His body langauge on the touch line kinda gives off that impression. Has anyone else got this impression or is it just me?

Are you mad? Its up to the minute, with all the details of the comings and goings, with insightful comment.

I was especially impressed with the punditry of the German fella, Shepherd. Hit the nail on the head regarding our busy transfer window exploits.

      Genius.

(or is it Guiness, im not sure??)

    • I’m sure he’ll jump through hoops for you your highness. Obviously it’s irrelevant that all the other thousands of people who actually appreciate the effort put into this FREE AND VOLUNTARY blog like it, because if Peter doesn’t like it then fuck me it better be overhauled entirely. Sort out your attitude or just don’t bother commenting on/reading the blog.

    • You sound like a bitch, Pete, unfortunately there seems to be more of your type claiming to support arsenal in recent years. I think we can all agree that you can fuck right off

  11. Another interlull where I spend more time praying to whatever spirit will listen for no injuries…..than actually watching football.

International friendlies, Hmmmmmm. What are the odds of the traditional recipient of our prayers gaining a sudden 10 day injury on Saturday; diagnosed by Dr Rednose?

  13. Podolski has sort of been dethroned of that LW spot by Rues recently so need to worry about him playing.
