Have any of you considered what a chore it is to do player ratings after games like that? We only do it because we love you.

Here’s what we thought of the 2-2 draw with Swansea.

The second goal was unlucky, no chance with the first, otherwise fine.

Beaten a bit too easily by Bony for their opening goal. Rustiness, having been out for so long, or part of why he was dropped way back when?

Did really well getting forward. Created Podolski's equaliser and his crossing tonight was dangerous – shame no Arsenal player wanted to get on the end of it.

Came on, scored, made an assist. Yet could have given away a penalty and was defensively woeful. It's clearly why the manager lacks faith in him.

  1. What a shitty fucking respond. Not acceptable at all that the players can’t put in a better performance after that last display and nowhere near acceptable that Wenger can’t motivate the team and set the right tactics to beat fucking Swansea at fucking home. Fucking.

But Kim looked quite good, so we got that going for us, which is nice

Thumb up 101 Thumb down 9

      • Ok, now I have read the whole comment. Let’s response to City.

        Fuck (repeat until fade).

When’s Ramsey back? Not had a respond in ages?

Thumb up 22 Thumb down 51

      • Sorry about that.

It’s kind of hard to proofread though, as my screen is so fucked up after receiving numerous headbutts on Saturday. Thus spelling errors will occurxenigjrgklwmoæg.

Thumb up 94 Thumb down 0

        • I am apologising sincerely. Maybe something tonight has really fucking pissed me off and I’m being very overly touchy.

I was embarrassed on Saturday, worthless on Tuesday; and I may now have to listen to Craig David to work out how it works out against city and Wigan. Ah!!!

Thumb up 25 Thumb down 9

    • Kim looked ace!

Probably the least appreciated of all our signings in recent years, everyone was crying out for a striker and we got *another* midfielder and one with a broken back at that! But as seems inevitable, 2 months down the line and our midfield is ravaged by injury and he stepped in to do a good job last night.

I say start him against City. It’ll be like that time they played David James up front against Boro, noone will know how to defend against him!

Thumb up 15 Thumb down 0

  2. In my opinion, Källström should be in the starting 11 ahead of Flamini and Arteta from the display he gave tonight. He’s showing a lot more pace, confidence and effort in taking the ball forward in comparison to Flamini and Arteta who, in recent matches, either pass back to defenders or give the ball away to the opposition. He made some sexy long distance passes too. Hope he starts against “Citeh” on Saturday.
I think Wenger should have started Sanogo and put Giroud on when we were defending a lead. Also we didn’t defend the lead, we just took the lead for granted and spunked away possession every time we had it which eventually led to a bloody goal.
Fabianski should take Szczesny’s place. The guy is just too cocky.
4th place is probably our best chance now, we could have a shot at 3rd if we fuck the shit out of City and win all our remaining games. But that is very unlikely. I’m not going to mention the FA cup(oh shit I just did) as that will get my hopes up and knowing the Arsenal of the past few(or shall I say many) years, there’s a huge chance of disappointment :/

Thumb up 57 Thumb down 20

    • Where can one start with de-constructing your analysis. Let’s start with your 1st sentence:

In my opinion, Källström should be in the starting 11 ahead of Flamini and Arteta

      I don’t mean to sound mean. But………

Thumb up 12 Thumb down 34

        • A complete unknown injury ridden last minute signing over our former captain and a sub who everyone knew should have started against Chelsea? And the Swede is only on loan here till May. Against Wigan? Would you rather him start?

I’ll never win, but I think 4th in the league and the FA cup is now our goal. And we will make it without rash changes; and some of my angry rash comments from before.

Thumb up 17 Thumb down 18

        • He is an experienced player and has over 100 caps for Sweden, I wouldn’t call that “unknown”. And yes I think he should start over them because their performances aren’t exactly improving.

Thumb up 6 Thumb down 0

    • I was impressed by Kallstrom’s positioning, confidence slotting in, and forward passing distribution. Pace, not so sure yet.

Thumb up 28 Thumb down 0

    • Yeah kind of like “shalstrum”. However you pronounce it, the guy looked the real deal.

One of the few positives I can take from that performance.

@Blogs, bit harsh on Podolski there. His goal was good (quick reaction, not that easy – OG would have likely fluffed it) and his pass to make the second goal was sensational.

I’d always give Poldi a run out as he’s a skilled player and has much more accurate shooting boots than most of our forwards and more importantly he has this direct feisty quality about him (maybe driven by his bionic arse ;-).

Thumb up 51 Thumb down 0

      • Actually that is quite close to how it should be pronounced. Should be “shell-stram” with the a in stram being pronounced like the word “a”.

        Regards,
        Sweden

Thumb up 30 Thumb down 1

      • Podolski’s off the ball antics are not very impressive. He body checked Bony in the box without even going for the ball. He picked a stupid yellow card against bayern for kicking the ball out of play. He acts like a thug sometimes but other than that we ought to have more faith in his finishing ability than Giroud.

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 2

        • Yeah, he’s a lovable character off the pitch, but he does have some silly moments on it. He’s like the anti-Bendtner!

Thumb up 6 Thumb down 0

  3. Have to disagree with some ratings…..

Sagna was tireless down the right and got very little help offensively, but was still a rock.

Originally a very class player, Arteta has no place in the side now; i used to think his intelligence and possession dictation was great, but now i just see a slow side/back passer with no real defensive or offensive ability. did ok today but ok is not good enough for arsenal. send him to segunda division at year end.

Rosicky, Bac, Poldi, Gibbs, and Santi the only DECENT performances today. won’t cut it.

Thumb up 38 Thumb down 5

      • Rosicky sure tried hard, but his final ball was consistently poor. He was trying to make things happen but so many of his balls over the top were waaaaay too long. Not hating, as he may be my favorite player. But tonight wasn’t his night

Thumb up 3 Thumb down 0

        • And he probably only looked decent because of the shitstorm going on around him…I’m a sad gooner. I need to sleep.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

        • For a final ball to be effective, it requires the recipient to make space, anticipate the pass and make a timed run. How often do we see that these days? Even when we do do it, we miss the chance, just like the Rosicky pass to Giroud versus the Chavs before they had scored. Rozza’s talents are wasted on the rest that is such a shame now he’s finally match fit.

Thumb up 6 Thumb down 0

  4. To everyone saying “Wenger out” after this:

All Wenger’s subs were spot on.
We’re probably (hopefully atleast) winning the FA Cup.
Wenger has built a squad that was top of the league for a good patch of the season, then massive injuries came about, and it snowballed.
Özi, Ramsey, Wilshere, Sanogo, Gnabry, Zelalem etc. are all going to get better with age, and Wenger is the right man to develop them
If it wasn’t for an own goal in the 90th minute, people would say “We showed such character to come back!!!

Arteta might not be what we need in central midfield, Giroud might not be the first choice striker that Arsenal deserve, but to “sack wenga” now would be ridiculous.
Give him at least one more summer transfer window with money to spend. Which other manager would’ve got Özil? We got Mesut fking Özil.

Thumb up 95 Thumb down 44

    • Give him another 500 games and a pay rise, you’re completely right.

    • Swansea, at home, and we should be lauded for showing character to come back and win?!? Come on mate, this is a game that had 3 points written all over it. Did you have a peek at their form guide (last 5 games: D L D L L)? Has it really come to this? We should expect to win a game like this and then go out and perform…..and we didn’t. First half was shambolic. Our most dangerous attacking player was our left back! At this point, nobody looks at the fixture list, sees Arsenal up next and thinks, “oh no, we are in for a hiding.” Bereft of ideas and toothless is not a good way to limp to the finish line. Would anyone on here have guessed just 4 weeks ago that we would be delighted to finish fourth? As much as I love Arsene, comment such as his post-match conclusion is maddening. “We just wanted to win the game without pushing anymore forward and a mistake happened unfortunately and it created a result we didn’t want. But overall I have to give credit to the fighting spirit and the desire we put into that game.” This didn’t just “happen to us,” it is a product of poor team selection, a lack of steel, and not buying properly in summer/Jan windows. Ughhhhhhh.

Thumb up 7 Thumb down 3

    • yeah and why always the massive amount of injuries? and then: wenger? spend some money in the summer?? you are kidding me…

Thumb up 6 Thumb down 8

  5. It is totally beyond me why we constantly play the same tactics up front. Pass it around the box and then lob the ball in when there are no more options left and hope that Giroud, who always seems to be in the wrong position, gets a head on it. Only Sagna can really cross the ball properly yet we rely almost entirely on lofted balls to score goals. It’s time to change tactics Wenger, and in the summer bring in half a dozen decent players to fill the gaping holes in our squad.

Thumb up 9 Thumb down 9

      • Mate Sagna is a fucking kickass crosser.
Notice how the team looks for Sagna when they want to punt the ball in the box?
He makes about 70% of our crosses, many of them pretty good too, but there is nobody in the box more often then not.
Except perhaps Giroud, but for all his famed size and strength he never gets his head to crosses.
Lame excuse for a target man, our Oli.

Thumb up 10 Thumb down 8

        • That’s ok, 70000 (roughly speaking) comments on here don’t understand he’s a target and link up man anyway. They all whinge he’s not sprinting in behind.

Don’t know what he’s supposed to do anyhow when midfielders ping a ball at him surrounded by 4-5 defenders and they don’t even continue their fucking runs to get the ball back, nevermind a third man making a run through. And nobody comes to when he’s pulling down a long ball. He’s got a thankless job 90% of the time, but still as many goals as Rooney, one less than Hazard, and two less than Aguero.

Is he singlehandedly enough for Arsenal? Of course not. But where is his fucking help?

Thumb up 30 Thumb down 2

        • Agree.
When other teams make their fullbacks bomb forward and cross, they make sure there are 2-3 players (the striker and a couple of midfielders) in the box. That way they dont necessarily need a clean header to score, a bit of pinballing or a misplaced clearance or a keeper-parry and they can get someone on the end of it.
          Meanwhile, Arsenal. Giroud. Alone.
It was so obvious against Swansea, Gibbs and Sagna putting quality crosses in and nobody challenging the ball.

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 0

  6. Poldi was todays star for me. yeah i know we play the system where the whole team defends together etc, but some players are simply not cut out for it, and for me Podolski is one of them – probably why hes underused by Wenger.

We have a lot of players that can do it, problem is many are injured. The back four plus arteta/flamini/ramsey/rosicky can create a good team pressure in midfield, and can even press higher with the attackers if need be, but I think the whole team defending together tactic doesn’t work well for 90 minutes unless you’re parking the bus.

Getting back must get increasingly difficult as the game wears on, especially if you’re a winger or LB/RB, which is why in the last 10 mins we saw Gibbs being out of position several times and was letting Swansea into dangerous positions. He was super today, got up well and attacked well, but he was spent by the end.

Hope Wenger gets us back to winning ways soon..this weekend would be a great start.

Thumb up 24 Thumb down 1

  7. Some huge games coming up for us now. Unfortunately, never say never only goes so far and I think the League’s a step too far now. Securing top 4 is vital again to our season bei- wait, sensing some deja vu?
In all seriousness, I’m going to be rightly fucking furious if we don’t prioritize the FA Cup because of our form in the league. We’ll make top four if we actually apply ourselves, but I refuse to believe any dribble that comes out about “Top 4 being the priority blah blah”. All of this is down to injuries and a lack of depth, something that both the Board and the Manager should have addressed a long, long time ago and to only now enquire about the number of injuries we get beggars belief. Seriously unimpressed by how this has been handled throughout this period and season. He may be able to get blood from a stone with the players at his disposal but surely Arsene can’t continue like this, otherwise every March will be the same: lethargic, weakened, injury-ridden and dissapointing.

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 0

  8. The way I see it, we’re rounding right into our perennial form!

4th place is going to be a fight, but we’ll be there at the end…unless we’re not.

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 3

    • You never know with our team do you….we could have a late surge of form as in previous seasons.

Or we could lose 5-0 to Everton and have another crisis.

      Arse.

Thumb up 8 Thumb down 0

  9. My point is last min own goal shouldn’t take away from the rating of a player. If it does then there is no point in doing it

Thumb up 12 Thumb down 2

  10. Tree trunk seems to be getting the lowest rating of the team by the readers.

I wonder where the mugsmashers would be in the league if they had our tree trunk instead of Suarez.

Thumb up 16 Thumb down 4

  11. It’s hard to make too many judgements about Kallstrom based on one substitute appearance, but he really looked to bring something that we’ve been missing. We are so ponderously slow to bring the ball out of defence, so the Swede’s ability to ping around some accurate long balls is a real breath of fresh air. As good as Arteta has been for us, his safe passing is also a big part of what is slowing us down and making us unable to threaten teams with pace. Giroud, of course, is the other main factor in that. There was one moment when Kallstrom picked out the big guy with a nice diagonal ball on the break, but in a situation where someone like Suarez would have got a shot off, Giroud was slow enough to let three or four defenders stifle the attack.

Thumb up 15 Thumb down 1

  12. If Wenger couldn’t find a way to get the players fired up after saturday it bodes very poorly for the end of the season, too angry with the whole club at the moment to say anything rational

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 4

    • Blah blah blah blah. Just think, it was Wenger’s 1000th game, the players had spoken highly of him, so too had many other people in the media, we were playing Chel$ki under Maureen, an old, despicable enemy at the top of the table, a chance to close the gap and re-ignite our title challenge. Everyone REALLY wanted to put in a big performance. And then they suffer one of the worse defeats in Arsenal’s modern history. Fuck me, everyone must have been utterly shattered after that game.

It’s too easy to say oh why weren’t the players fired up, why couldn’t Wenger do it nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh…. Fuck off, many of them must have been at or near the low point of their career and feeling like utter shite, of course it was going to be extemely difficult to turn it around.

Thumb up 10 Thumb down 7

    • This. He looks utterly helpless every single game. He is trying hard, but he also is one of the prime examples why this team is not good enough for the title race. Unbelievable that he seems to be Wenger’s first choice as a number 6..

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 1

  13. why do we get so many injuries every year, and no minor ones either . surely we get more than most of our closest rival?

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0

  14. Not sure how Gibb’s crossing can be dangerous and yet at the same time Giroud got no service? Either Gibbs was launching pointless crosses into the box when no-one was there or Giroud couldn’t be arsed to get on the end of Gibb’s dangerous crosses.

I hate football at the moment. We are paying the price for a lack of activity in the transfer market. Wenger clearly has little faith in Poldi and if he didn’t want to pay full whack for Draxler he should have bought someone else in ie a speedy winger and also a good striker.

It’s fine to decide not to pay the asking price for someone if you don’t want to but WHERE ARE THE OTHER OPTIONS? By not reinforcing up-front with a goal scorer and a winger we have effectively kissed yet another season goodbye. I’m not even going to mention the defensive additions we also need.

Sorry if this is a very negative post but we’ve been putting up with this shit for so long in order to pay off the stadium, get new sponsorship etc. There seems to be no excuse now! The money is there!

When is Wenger going to realise that it is a GOOD thing to have a big squad full of quality players as in Citeh’s and Chelski’s. We need a squad that can field 22 top, top quality players to provide competition, cover for injuries and allow players to be rested. Then we might actually be able to compete for the 4 trophies we all want.

    Rant over. COYG!

Thumb up 13 Thumb down 3

  15. Yep blogs, I do realize what a chore it is. I appreciate the hard work after a game like that. Rating players is somewhat cathartic….somewhat…..

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  16. I’ve given up. At the moment, we’ll get stuffed on Saturday and Wigan will rip us to pieces. Depressing. Absolutely depressing. Unless things change, my season ticket won’t be renewed.

Thumb up 6 Thumb down 14

  17. Can’t say you can blame the players.

Truth is we have been letting it slip since the last death run and the Stoke game was crucial.

To let it to chance this late in the game does not help. Instead rather than putting teams away with aplomb like our immediate competitors, we are scrapping to win at best.

Again I do not think we are not competitive in numbers or quality to the top teams.

But the margins are slim and our shortfall particularly up front is telling. Just look at the GD, we are light weight and missing a bit of magic up front.

Wenger has not learnt from prior seasons and is responsible. It is correct to show faith in players like Ramsey who has come good this season but it is also important to remember that his education came at a cost to us over several games last season.

Therefore rather than risking faith in players, Wener needed to err on caution and ensure we have a slight over load particularly up front where the goals will count in such a tight contest.

I can only look back to January where admitedly the market was tight but what price a loan for Pato, someone who is quick and tricky, can operate alone (as oppose to Giroud who needs to be supported) and possibly give us some important goals to edge victory over Stoke or for that matter Chelsea or Swansea.

I would have also had liked him to have signed the likes of Konoplyanka (given our depletion in Walcott), who was available for 18m, rather than spend time and money re-signing Rosicky (Admitedly a great asset) but one who will only get older and whose injury niggles won’t improve with age.

The blame must be aportioned on the gaffer who has been unable to respond to his poor tactics with sufficient incisiveness or speed and who has not ensured the sufficient means to prosecute through the campaign. That the team in unable to lift itself is also his fault. If the team is lost on the pitch, it is the onus of the gaffer to set things right quickly with timely adjustment to tactics or substitution.

I say this as a great admirer of wenger but instead of the 1000 game being a re-enstatement of his adaptability in the modern game, it has become a watershed in his place in history. It pains me to say this but I don’t see him carrying us the steps we need further. OTOH, the unknown carries its own risk.

We have the FA cup to prosecute now and deliver. In the larger scheme of things it means F all. A consolation prize at best.

But if we win it, at least it will be a baby step toward the right direction. If we can seal a finish better than 4th along with it, then there is some vindication for the gaffer that the season has not at least been another big waste.

Thumb up 7 Thumb down 8

    • Looking forward to prosecuting the FA Cup! And finding it guilty of avoiding Arsenal for far too long! Come home baby, come home.

And kallstrom in the starting line up, he came on when everyone was tired, and made a couple of passes and all of a sudden hes our best player? santi is supposed to be creative and came up with nothing and he gets a high rating? Flamini a high score? he was shakey as hell everytime he got the ball, and scored an own goal after letting a player he should have been tracking run straight through our defense? rosicky and per for me were the only 2 players that should be above a 5.

  19. one more rating:

    Wenger: 2 out of 10….

A new contract is his for the asking, apparently.
What sort of fucking club is this? The guy wins nothing for 10 years, he presides over a team that capitulate, year in year out, and he walks into a new contract, no questions asked?
Arsenal fans really are suckers if they buy that

  20. When did the caiptaincy become the kiss of death at our club? Fuck me….

  21. G-Rod is an absolute waste of space upfront. He doesn’t provide any threat upfront. Couldn’t hold the ball properly and his touches were like a Yeti learning to play football. His usual flicks doesn’t help us and he always pings the ball played into him back into midfield. Bony was an example of how a forward can bring other players into the game. The goal after that peach of a pass from Podolski was served to him on plate and if he couldn’t score from there, no point calling him a striker. That was a lazy insipid performance from him upfront and I totally disagree with the viewpoint that he didn’t have any service. What kind of fucking service does he need to control the balls played into him. I can’t get why Podolski is being criticized by Mr. Blog. He tried his best. And Gibbs didn’t need much help down the left. He was tracking back much more than G-Rod. Without him on as a sub, Arsenal would have definitely gone on to lose the match.

  22. I disagree regarding Arteta. Every time we sought to go forward, his reluctance to find Rosicky or Ox when they were under even nominal pressure meant we were passing it around between him, Per and Flamini for most of the game. He’s been effective as a playmaker for Everton but I just don’t think he can do it at our standards. Much better off as a DM who intercepts and feeds a playmaker, he’s getting stagnant now. Shows we need someone like Jack, Aaron or Mesut to provide some drive and incision.
At the moment, watching Arsenal is hurting a lot. A season that promised so much has disintegrated. Why do the gods like to toy with us so? :(

  23. We are only paying for Wenger’s inactivity in the transfer market and our inability to keep players that matter. Imagine how close Song was to attaining legendary status in England. Yet we let him go …

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 8

    • What planet are you on? Song was NEVER going to be the next Vieira and for every goal he scored or goal-scoring chance he created, he gave the ball away 10 times ffs.

Thumb up 8 Thumb down 0

  24. Giroud did what he had to, he couldn’t do much more. Santi and Arteta were shit though and Podolski is better when he comes from the bench. They learned nothing from saturday, same mistakes. Still pissed off about last night.

  25. Average rating 6 for a team creating 2 opportunities in 90 minutes against a weak Swansea at home… I am sure you rate Wenger a 9 too? He’s is the one to blame since this has been going on for 9 years now. We all need a change.
And the last goal remembered me of the league cup final. I am sure they(Mainly Wenger) will find a way of topping that shit sandwich in the FA Cup this year.

  26. I’m 43 years on this planet. Been following the Gunners for all of them, the good times and the bad. Deep breath time – We need Wenger gone! He has been such a wonderful servant of ours down through the years but time has caught up with him. The game has moved on. Everything about Wenger, from a football perspective, is now wrong. Tactically, technically, and above all motivationally (if that’s even a word) he is so far behind the modern game. He genuinely needs to go now. I’m at a kiss to see how may arsenal supporters here and elsewhere simply fail to see this. We cannot progress now with Wenger at the helm. Secretly, I think even Wenger recognises this now.

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 1

  27. First of all… a draw is horrible for us. The players didn’t show the fighting spirit when we needed it. After 1:0 down the heads were down as well. Arteta tried but didn’t succeed. Cazorla was weak in my eyes. Mertesacker: Ok, he didn’t lose the heading against Bony but his positioning in this situation was poor, too. It is his zone and he has to have controll…

Giroud is shit… he gets a lot of support from the fans… what do we get back? You have to put the ball one centimeter in front of him that he can score… if he has to run he is as quick as an amateurplayer… and people who are writing that he is fighting so much… of course no other striker would fight…

Kallstrøm was ok in my eyes. Couldn’t do anything about the goal.

Against City we have nothing to lose… but don’t expect a win…

Thumb up 3 Thumb down 3

  28. Giroud is a shit and don’t give me that bollocks about how he is a target man. You could say adebarndoor is a target man, but he is better than giroud in almost every area… Better finisher, better movement, more pace, technically better, better at being a total wanker as a well, but that’s another story… Giroud is not a top 4 striker. Full stop

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 4

    • Giroud is not world class. He is a good player though, and has proved during the first half of this season that he is good enough to play for us and helped to propel us to the top of the league.

Sure, he is rank out of form at the moment, but he’s not shit. And how on earth is he supposed to play his way back into form when the team is playing so badly at the moment? (Granted, an alternative should be on the bench because of this)

Target man is not the right term – we aren’t Wimbledon of the 80’s. The whole premier league has changed over the last 10 years with the move from 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid that most teams are playing. Unfortunately, this means one guy up front and relies heavily on the rest of the midfield and fullbacks contributing to the attack. If they aren’t performing, it doesn’t work.

Our performances since mid-January have been worrying. I’ve never seen such poor passing from an Arsenal side, giving the ball away time after time. We’ve even been hoofing the ball away rather that our usual confident passing (ok, some times I am glad about this because my nerves can’t take it). The only time I can think recently that it worked was the first 10 minutes in the home leg with Bayern. We stroked it around quickly and confidently and made them look average. But all other times, it has been panicky, people taking took many touches.

Wenger is the right man going forward – but we must look to add to the squad in the summer – properly, with a clear plan.

Thumb up 2 Thumb down 0

    • - Giroud out (+£12mm), Costa in (-£35mm)
      – Wilshere out (+£20mm), Draxler in (-£37mm)
      – Scheszny out (+£13mm), Valdes in (-£20mm)
      – Monreal out (+£10mm), Luke Shaw in (-£40mm)
      – Vermalen out (+£8mm), Winston Reid in (-£15mm)
      – Sagna and Fabianski extend contracts for improved wages
      – A Patrick Viera / Yaya Toure sort of player in the DM role would be nice but simply not available so we can continue with Ramsey/Arteta/Flamini/Chamberlain which is adequate for now.

The above upgrades would completely transform the team and only cost net £84mm compared to the £100mm war chest Wenger reportedly has at his discretion.

Look on the bright side, in only 5 months the 2014-2015 season begins and we can be title contenders again.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 7

      • Well, you certainly don’t get the managers job….you’ve replaced ONE striker with ONE striker…! I think the problem is that we need more (Draxler isn’t)!

Don’t agree with losing Wilshere. Why get rid of him?

And Winston Reid? Come on. If Vermaelen is happy to be part of the squad and fight for his place then he should stay.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  29. this season is exactly the same as every other season in the past five years. We have not improved one iota. Yes we got rid of some shit players in the Summer but why were they here in the first place. Yes we bought Ozil but is he not the same as every other midfielder we have? Yes we got a new striker but he is yet to score a goal.

Injuries have ravaged this season but even if this were not so our squad is not strong enough to compete for the title. Once more we are only competing for 4th with the FA Cup as a Brucie Bonus.

Gazidid was talking the Billy Bollocks at the start of the season that we are now in a position to kick on, to buy players from the top table and more, to compete for the title.

Well that’s a fucking million miles off because once again we fucked around in the Summer chasing shadows rather than having an actual plan to buy players in the positions where we are really short.

I blame Gazidis and Wenger for this utter shambles.

  30. Second after second minute after minute, hour after hour, day after day, week after week, month after month ,year after year the same dribble, same pitiful excuses please fellow gooners Arsene is not home was last seen on MARS 2005. Remember those politicians who promise you this and that every election time AKA Mr Wenger

  31. for someone who managed players like henry and bergkamp, i dont know how he’s been able to put up with giroud’s performances. if theres giroud remains to be the main forward, 4th will always be the best we can do. i am so sick of giroud showing his frustration when he miss control the ball or misplace a pass..or were just too slow to get into spaces. a team who wants to be challenging on all fronts simply cant rely on only 1 proven striker – which happened to be giroud…bleh…

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

  32. same old Arsenal

inability to buy a world class striker over summer or January
refusal to buy top quality winger in January after Walcott is injured
lack of a beast in midfield with physical presence

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0

  33. COYG. I just want to say, if the match had finished 2-1, we would have been talking about the fight and resilience that we showed. Which we did; some players ran themselves into the groud, Flamini included, else I think surely he would reacted quicker to that unfortunate rebound. We did show a lot of fight, there were a few good things in our performance, and lets stay behind the team for the City game.
