Great video. Hard to beat Liverpool on 1989 but shows our determination nowadays.

Fantastic stuff!

Love it. Nothing, NOTHING in football beats a last-minute winner. Best feeling in the world.

To the question: just how many times do we have to pull off this kind of thing just to get a win this season? Answer: as many as it takes to win the title.

No side wins the Premier League without a massive dollop of luck, overcoming adversity, debatable refereeing decisions, late penalties, nor (most importantly) fucking mindbending perseverance.

And it’s the last thing – the fucking mindbending perseverance – that’s the most important. Because without that nothing ever gets won. And don’t give me any of that crap about players not getting sent off or not giving away penalties in injury time. That stuff happens across the board. What’s important is what happens next. And this season we keep going to the very last kick.

That alone should give everyone at least an inkling we can pull this thing off.

If the team on the pitch can keep going to the final whistle, then so can we.

Theo became the answer to one of the all-time great trivia questions in that match, to wit:

Name the only footballer ever to have scored a hat-trick in a cup match with all three goals being scored in different periods of added time in the match.

Theo scored his goals in minutes 45+1, 90+5, and 120+2.

I’m not afraid to admit I’ve become a huge admirer of Alexis’ balls.

That Bendtner vs Cardiff was his last Arsenal appearance. His last after his return as a Japanese Monk. He was actually becoming quite useful. It’s a bit sad. Well, we’re better now.

And the greatest of these is Mertesacker against Wigan in the FA Cup semi-final. The consequences for club and nanager if we hadn’t made it through hardly bear thinking about.
