Talented Trae Coyle being fast-tracked through the ranks at Arsenal

17

Arsenal are never afraid to give youngsters an opportunity in the older age groups if a player is deemed to be of outstanding quality, and Trae Coyle is the latest starlet to have been fast-tracked at the club.

Despite still being a schoolboy, Coyle, who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger, is already training at London Colney, while he is a key part of the U18s squad and this week made his debut in the UEFA Youth League in the defeat to Basel.
Perhaps his rapid development should come as no surprise. After all, Coyle’s ability hasn’t been a secret, with the prospect having scored several spectacular goals for Arsenal at younger age groups.
Now, though, he is edging closer to fulfilling his dream of getting into the first team.
There is still a very long way to go but it seems apparent that the Arsenal coaching staff hold Coyle in very high regard indeed, with a debut for the U23s this season not beyond the realms of possibility.
For now the England youth international will simply be seeking to gain as much experience as possible so that when his scholarship gets underway next season he is already established as an important figure at youth level.
A player with excellent technical ability, Coyle is capable of beating players with ease and has also scored frequently himself at schoolboy level.
It is important not to get carried away, but the early signs surrounding this prospect are very encouraging indeed.

I think I need some bad Arsenal news. It just doesn’t feel like I’m a Gooner at the moment! I’m not frustrated, I’m whistling a lot and I’m desperately looking forward to every fixture. This feels strange…

I find it great to be honest. And since the AW 20 weekend I think that should put some perspective to Arsene Wenger as a man, and a big big man at that. This may be his last season and in all honesty let’s make it a memorable one. I’m one of his critics but for now I would love to see the Emirates set aside the Wenger out vs AKB bullshit and really focus on being the 12th man. No PL team to my memory won the league with the fan base not united, so let’s get behind the team whatever it is. Just for this season at least.

Tres bien, Trae Coyle!

Always enjoy hearing about the future. I remember hearing about Iwobi from you what seems ages ago, here’s hoping Mr. Coyle has a similar path. ( no relation to Owen I hope )

How about a certain Omar Hutchinson I’ve heard about?

Another talented prospect from our academy. I hope he makes it and I look forward to seeing how this young man develops. Experience has shown though that making it is not just about being blessed with natural talent and technical ability, its also about his remaining committed to hard work and dedication to learn and develop himself, and how he conducts himself, on and off the pitch. At this stage, I don’t think its all just down to him though because he is still very young. It will all depend on how effective his support camp and immediate family structure are at keeping him grounded and focused on achieving his career aspirations. His greatest enemy at this stage will be himself and how he handles the hype, fame and money that will soon be increasingly coming his way, given his natural talent. To get featured by Jeorge suggests the fame bit is already beginning to happen and the rest will surely follow if he handles himself right…… I hope he makes it because nothing pleases a fan more than one of our home grown player developing into something special for the club.

It’s just unreal the amount of young talent we are going to have coming through in the next few years:

The Jeff,
Krystian Bielik,
Ismael Bennacer,
Vlad Dragomir,
Willock brothers,
Ainsley Maitland-Niles,
Stephy Mavididi,
Edward Nketiah,
Donyell Malen,
Reiss Nelson,

I don’t think Gedion-Zelalem or Dan Crowley are going to quite make it though.

dan crowley is an unreal talent. having seen him play i cant help but think how hasnt he been knoching on the first team already. something went wrong during the transition from academy team to loan team . maybe he choose the wrong team to spend loan time , or atittude issues ,not physicaly well built . i think he will end up leaving arsenal not because he was less talented than others but because factors other than that. its a shame it didint work for him. could’ve been the next wilshere or seeing wilsheres state now he might just be the next wilshere …another unfulfilled potential

Zelalem has a future with the club- have you seen the lad play?
If he gets a decent run on loan somewhere I can see him featuring for the US National team at the next world cup… we just need to oust that ex spud we have managing the side- perhaps England will have him?

The Jeff, Bielik and Malen are the outstanding candidates. But very promising indeed.

I’ve heard good things about this kid. I think that Nelson has the potential to be a starter in a few years and willock should be part of the first team too. Maitland-niles has the potential to be a first teamer but it’s going to be nearly impossible to break through in central midfield unless Santi or Ramsey leaves soon. Maybe backup rb is the right solution for the meantime so that he gets some first team games under his belt, then he can move back into midfield in the future. Similar to what Bayern and Germany have been doing to kimmich.

Coyle scored the 4th goal for our u18’s in an away win over spurs – 4-2, this morning, joe willock x2 and pileas with our other goals.
