Considering we have only won one of our last seven opening games in the Premiership I for one will be delighted and overly excited if we win this! COYG!

Ox in the Box

Ahhhh familiar woes from the last season… Damn you thug Flappyhands Cahill!

Ox in the Box

Not that I don’t believe in our boys – Monreal to have a smashing game and 4-0 TO THE ARSENAAALLLLLL

Shouldn’t that be Montreal?

u got our attacking part right ? well defense ??

Let’s win this to start the new season on a positive note. #COYG

Suspect per will usually be the sacrificial pawn when everyone is fit

Original Paul

Ox inside right…I like it!

Ox to play centrally?

4231 formation.. I think Ox on right wing

Mesut\'s Ozil

No. Ox at LWB. ‘TANK’ @ LCB and Nacho in the middle of the back 3

aye, pretty much as was at Communist Sheild when BFG went off, just with Ozil for Iwobi

Big Red Machine

Original Paul

I hope not and I don’t think so. Beast is LWB according to Sky.

Says it all about Sky!!

sixteen swans

No real surprises.

It’ll be good to see if Xhaka and Elneny can be as good as they were last Sunday.

It’ll also be good to see how well Ozil matches up with Lacazette.

Good options on the bench despite crucial absences.

Now let’s start this season with the kind of stuff we know we’re capable of.

Stuck on repeat...

Just want to clarify to the football Gods that your last sentence was: “Now let’s start this season with the GREAT kind of stuff we know we’re capable of”.

Monreal is now one of my favorites

Typical Arsenal, starting the season with our 7th choice central defender

There’s one in every crowd, isn’t there?

Why the fuss??
Kolasinac after Kos, BFG, Mustafi, Holding, Gabriel, Nacho, and Chambo
Actually that makes him our eighth choice!!

i would like per to be in the centre of trio when we play teams like west brom and manu and mostly away from the home.

Our biggest obstacle tonight will be ourselves. If we can overcome the opening day hoodoo, then we only have to deal with Mike Dean.

You were right and I guess we scraped past ourselves.

Our central defense looks weird. Our only real CB is a wet-behind-the-ears kid.

Aaah, first game of the season again.

Pardon the dumb question, but do we think Kolasinac will be one of the back 3, with Oz at left wingback and Bellerin right wingback? COYG!

I meant Ox not Oz.

That is correct.

I suspect he’s only playing in the back three because of a lack of options currently. Mustafi and Koscielny will surely come in when available.

Oh, misunderstood the question. For today, yes, he’s in the back three.

What way does this line up? Can’t figure it out…Elneny at CB and Ox at mid or Klosanic at CB and Ox at left WB?

Holding, Monreal, and Kolasinac as the CB’s and Bellerin and Oxlade-Chamberlain as the wings backs as I see it.

Original Paul

According to Sky’s pictorial line up we have:
Elneny at CB.
Ox inside right wing

Holding, Monreal, Kolisinac
Bellerin, Xhaka, Elneny, Oxlade-Chamberlain
Ozil, Welbeck

Defenders: Holding, Monreal, Kolasinac
Wingbacks: Ox,Bellerin
CM:xhaka, Element
Forwards: Ozil, Welbeck, Lacazzete

Who is element? Is he a new signing?

AW is trying to mind fuck us on the first day of the season.

Who’s the ref?

So 4 at the back or 3?

It would be so Arsene to revert to 4.

Watching the abysmal Sky Sports pre-match… they’re getting into BT Sport territory with this narrative: already trying to push negativity around our club. Seriously, why does Jaime Carragher even bother with this job if all he wants to do is talk about Liverpool? You’re a disgrace, mate.
The pre-match before the opening game should be about setting the stage for an exciting season to come, since you want people to come back to watch your coverage, not about repeating tired old narratives. If Sky were smart (and they’re not), they’d consider this. BT are horrid when it comes to coverage narratives, but they at least TRY to make things exciting before kickoff.
That said, here’s to a great PL campaign.

Caribbean Queen

I’d be happy with one nil to the Arsenal

Kunal Kumar

I don’t care what happens tonight. I’ll be an uncle ay minute.

quick and off-topic, I have donated a few times and still can’t post to the liveblog. Keeps telling me I need to upgrade. I should be good several times over. Thanks!

not so fed up

Start off with a goal and within minutes burst the bubble!!!

not so fed up

Wow it just gets worse, two goals conceded, now wondering which player will get injured!!!

not so fed up

The ox needs to come off, preferably be sold, and lets get back on track with giroud on the pitch

not so fed up

Crumbs what is with waiting for messages to be moderated!!! We are poor tonight!!!

The Beast.

Hey guys, I am looking for any Arsenal fans out there to complete my survey on the impact of Social media and Streaming on Football for my Dissertation. The focus is on how these two factors have grown Arsenal into a worldwide force with dedicated fans seemingly everywhere.
It will only take 5 minutes and any responses will be appreciated. Thank You!

not so fed up

He\'s got no hair but we don\'t care...
He\'s got no hair but we don\'t care...

Pathetic. It’s us, the fans a feel sorry for. That mugsmashing scouse gimp Carragher already slated us at the start and the gutter media will be ready to go to town, like they needed a reason to anyway.
